ZTE files patent lawsuits against Huawei

Time:2011-06-13

Huawei asked to stop manufacturing and using ZTE’s TD-LTE equipment .
Chinese telecommunications firm ZTE has filed a patent lawsuit against Huawei. The lawsuit has asked the vendor to stop manufacturing and utilising ZTE’s TD-LTE equipment.
The suit seeks to stop Huawei from performing large-scale TD-LTE technology trials. Marbridge Consulting has cited a source within ZTE's securities department and stated that the court has accepted the suit and legal proceedings have been initiated.
ZTE’s action follows Huawei’s filing of patent-infringement lawsuits in courts in Hungary, Germany and France. The patents are associated with data card and LTE technologies. ZTE is accused of illegally using Huawei's trademark on some of ZTE's data cards. Huawei was subsequently granted an injunction against ZTE.
